[Last read book: La rupe dei Troll - Troll Fell, by Katherine Langrish (2004, UK) - Peer's a boy whose father died and whose bad, giant, cruel uncles come out of the blue and pick him up to their mill. He gets to be a slave to them, surviving only thank to his dog, Loki, Hilde, a girl of the neighborhood, and to some of the peculiar creatures living there. Sad, but full of hope.]
