Dorothy holds a radio program, while her son Bobby and her beautiful daughter Anna Lee grow happy in a so nice place as it is Elmwood Springs. There are so many peculiar characters that's hard to find the true red line, which has to be Elmwood Springs itself, linking the shy Betty Raye from the gospel group, the ambitious Hamm Sparks, poor Tot, Norma and Macky, aunt Elner, Doc and many others. Peaceful and serene.]

La rupe dei Troll - Troll Fell, by Katherine Langrish (2004, UK)
- Peer's a boy whose father died and whose bad, giant, cruel uncles come out of the blue and pick him up to their mill. He gets to be a slave to them, surviving only thank to his dog, Loki, Hilde, a girl of the neighborhood, and to some of the peculiar creatures living there. Sad, but full of hope.]
